Msvcr110.dll missing in wamp installation solution

Make sure you have the latest version of all of these Microsoft C/C++ Redistributable runtime libraries.

The 2008 Redist is used by wampmanager.exe
The 2010 Redist is used by some versions of Apache ( depending on compiler used )
The 2012 Redist is used by some versions of Apache ( depending on compiler used )

FOR WAMP 32bit

Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 SP1 Redistributable Package (x86) [www.microsoft.com]

And then also this one which applies a security update to the version above

Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable Package ATL Security Update [www.microsoft.com]
Press the Download button and on the following screen select vcredist_x86.exe

Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 SP1 Redistributable Package (x86) [www.microsoft.com]

FOR WampServer 2.4 or 2.5

Microsoft Visual C++ 2012 [www.microsoft.com]
Press the Download button and on the following screen select VSU_4\vcredist_x86.exe

FOR WAMP 64bit

You need the 2008 x86 Package even on a 64bit windows system as its is used by wampmanager.

Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 SP1 Redistributable Package (x86) [www.microsoft.com]

And then also this one which applies a security update to the version above
Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable Package ATL Security Update [www.microsoft.com]
Press the Download button and on the following screen select vcredist_x86.exe

Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable Package (x64) [www.microsoft.com]

Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 SP1 Redistributable Package (x64) [www.microsoft.com]

If you are using WampServer 2.5 on a 64bit Windows

You will need both the 32bit and 64bit versions of this runtime.

Microsoft Visual C++ 2012 [www.microsoft.com]
Press the Download button and on the following screen select VSU_4\vcredist_x86.exe
Press the Download button and on the following screen select VSU_4\vcredist_x64.exe

In fact if you are running a 64bit Windows OS its probably a good idea, and will do no harm to download all these runtime libraries for both 32bit and 64bit as of course a 64bit windows will run both 32 and 64 bit software.

This may make you life easier later when you decide to install some other software/utility that is compiled with an older version of MSVC especially if its 32bit code.

It is best to download each version and then install it before downloading the next as the naming convension used by microsoft for the installation .exe files is a bit confusing and people have got very confused as to wether they have actually installed all the versions that are required.

To check that you have all the required runtimes, launch 'Programs and Features' by
Start -> Control Panel -> Programs and Feature

For a 32bit system it should look something like this, ignore the fact that mine has what look like multiple versions of the same library, its just because when you download a newer version it does not remove the older revisions :-

WAMPServer 2.5 What you need to know!
Minimum system requirements are:
Windows 7 SP1 ,
Windows 8 / 8.1,
Windows Vista SP2,
Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1,
Windows Server 2012 R2.

WAMPServer 2.5 will not run on Windows XP or Windows Server 2003

This is because Apache, PHP and MySQL are now being compiled using Microsoft Visual Studio 2012 ( VC11 ) and the VC11 runtime library which of course is required to run these versions of Apache/PHP/MySQL will not work with Windows XP, even SP3 or Windows Server 2003.

WAMPServer 2.5 SYMLINKS
As of WAMPServer 2.5 the Switching feature that allows you to switch between multiple versions of Apache and PHP will not copy files between PHP version folder and the Apache version folders as it did before, but will create Symbolic Links for the files that live in the PHP folder but are required also in the Apache/bin folder. You dont need to worry, this is all done automatically by the switching mechanism but it is useful to know that they exists. Unfortunately Explorer does not visually differentiate between Symbolic Links and other files very well.

However there is an Explorer extension that you can install for free, called "Link Shell Extension", it can be downloaded free from here [schinagl.priv.at]

This extension requires the Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Redist runtime library, there is a link on its download page.

If you never actually switch a version these SYMBOLIC LINKS will never be created as the initial install does not need them.
